The Fonky Chicken Clothing



The name came from its founder Chauncey Banks , who , as child sneaking around during family weekend parties & watching family members dance to "Do The Funky Chicken" a dance craze created by, the late Rufus Thomas.

WHO WE ARE

Family Business Est. 1990

The Fonky Chicken was founded in April 1990 as one of the FIRST Bay Area Urban Hip-Hop stores. The new and improved Fonky Chicken was later hatched at the Westfield Mall in Fairfield, California. This was one of the first Minority owned independent urban clothing stores in major malls. In 2005, urban apparel fashion and CD's sales began to sag due to major stores picking up urban designs, causing the Owner to "fry the chicken".


OUR STORY

Under new managment, Fonky Chicken Clothing was revamped.

The first bi-annual "Fonky Chicken Sneaker Summit fundraiser event". Fonky Chicken Sneaker Summit is where sneaker enthusiast from all walks of life gathers to buy, sell, trad, display, browse, and discuss rare and exclusive sneaker and clothing in a large party atomosphere. FCSS displays the hip-hop lifestyle exhibition featuring over 900 pairs of rare, limited edition, vintage celebrity signed artist collaborated sneakers. A collection of sneaker inspired artwork, fashion, clothes and photography. The event also features live street art airbrushers, live gaming competitions, live skateboard and yo-yo's demonstrations, live celebrity dance crews, live hip-hop and rock performances by some of the world's foremost recording artists.
